August 5, 1957 - American Bandstand is broadcast nationally on ABC. The first song played was Jerry Lee Lewis' "Whole Lotta Shaking Goin' On." The show would be broadcast for an incredible 30 years! (It had a good beat and you could dance to it.) |  |

I remember always watching "American Bandstand". Loved to keep up on their saga's of who was dating whom and how they dressed....even learned some of their dances by watching it.
